Reorganization of Transmission Business

Unipres has taken many steps to harmonize its operations with the environment in an effort to promote the realization of a sustainable society. We make more effective use of limited resources and energy, and we consistently choose production processes that have the least environmental impact.

Distribution accounts for a large proportion of CO2 emissions by manufacturers, and Unipres is no exception. To improve production efficiency, we completed a reorganization of our transmission business in fiscal year 2006. Previously various functions were scattered among different plants, which led to losses through distribution inefficiencies. Distribution efficiency was improved by concentrating functions within certain plants. The reorganization resulted in major reductions in CO2 emissions due to transportation.
