    Achieving both light body weight and safety is a tough problem to solve. Simply making the steel plate thinner to save weight diminishes its collision strength. Building on our car body press technology, we developed innovative technology for producing transmission parts by means of precision pressing, in place of the conventional casting, forging, and cutting processes. Unipres takes advantage of our own forming simulations to discover potential problems in the pressing processes and to optimize the production methods, number of steps, equipment, and die specifications. Especially for precision pressing, where a high degree of accuracy is required, our dies are micromachined to 1/1000mm precision. In addition, for the pressing of high-tensile materials, which requires highly advanced technology, dies undergo trials on a pilot line in Japan (using presses of the same specifications as actual production lines) before they are supplied to each global site. By ensuring quality and productivity in this way, the same high level of quality is achieved on large transfer presses delivered to global sites in a short time.

Assembly technology Know-how and a passion for craftsmanship live and breathe in every part of the assembly line.

Developing equipment and jigs for assembly processes is another specialty of Unipres. We have achieved cost reduction and faster production by developing our own universal robot line for assembling four different types of parts on one piece of equipment. In developing assembly facilities, we use robot simulations to discover potential problems and optimize the equipment specifications. Trials are run on a pilot line in Japan, resulting in equipment that produces consistently high-quality products and enabling quick setup for mass production at global production plants.
